The first ReDefining Economic Development NYC event, “Defining Economic Development,” drew 54 organizations from a cross-section of community, labor, and advocacy groups throghout the City. Panelists from ACORN, Fifth Avenue Committee, Jobs with Justice, the Laborers Union, Neighborhood Economic Development Advocacy Project, New York Industrial Retention Network, Pratt Center for Community Development, and Sustainable South Bronx discussed components of a “definition” of economic development as well as successful progressive efforts toward that definition.
